The 365 Day Project

Day 11-15

Our week has been super busy with two kids with colds. Lots of coughing around here and a little girl that will not get out of our arms. I have been sleeping in an upright position with fussy grabbing my hair all night. Not good for the sleep. Lot of late nights and a little Wii action. Peter had speech on Monday and Tuesday had Occupational Therapy for the first time. I had training on Wednesday and Friday a dentist appt. and a little Gymboree shopping with my Gymbucks. Carlie has a great outfit for her Birthday pictures that is pants because of her anti-dress attitude.

Now that the weekend is here, I finally have a moment to post of the pictures of the week.

Day 11 ~ Wii if finally here!

Our Wii Fit arrived in the mail finally. Everyone in the house got started with all of the beginning setup. Lots of fun to come!

Day 12 ~ Not Enough Wii Fits, Why Not Make Your Own

Noticed Peter is on the Wii Fit and Carlie made her own Wii Fit. Lol! She just wants to be in on all of the gaming and fitness fun.

Day 13 ~ Toy Time

While we did our little bit of Wii time after dinner, Carlie decided that it was time to pull out a bunch of toys.

Day 14 ~ Wii Yoga

Warrior pose! My boy loves Yoga and loves that Wii Fit has it.

Day 15 ~ Melt Down

I got home last night to an upset and tired little girl. She had just had it and wanted nothing but her mommy.

Disclaimer: Wii time is the half hour after dinner. Not all the time. My only real time to photograph is during this time. At least it is fun, family time to exercise and have fun!

Bonus Photos

Peter decided Sunday evening that he wanted to be a superhero. Just grab a blanket and tie it on and instant superhero like Super Grover!

Earlier on Sunday, we knew that Komo was coming out to video our neighbor about his wonderful story. Why is Kiro in the neighborhood too? Turns out the Lady missing in Utah, her husband has decided to move into our neighborhood in Washington. Oh joy!

Today's photo is a shock for me. Carlie has been so against dresses and today I actually talked her into her super soft Hanna Anderson dress. Of course, she had to put her sweater on (yes, she tries to live in this sweater). She then grabbed a bag and a friend and kept telling us "Bye!"

Which one is older? You probably think it is Carlie, but no, you would be wrong. This is Brianna, our next door neighbor. They are both 10 weeks old today! She was born 30 minutes before Carlie. It really shocked Hillary and I that we were pregnant together but the fact that we delivered 30 minutes apart shocks us.

Today was a very rainy day so we stuck around at home and had fun playing.

I was trying to get this cool effect with using natural light but they kept getting blurry. My camera asked me to use the flash but then it would have flashed back at me.

Today Peter wanted to color. He did that for a while and then he decided that playing with the crayon wrappers on his fingers were more fun.

Look at my big boy. He loves his booster. He would like to sit in it all day. Therefore, it also gets moved to the floor.

Welcome to my new classroom! I have been blessed with recieving items from the now retired teacher. There is a lot of stuff to go through to see what will work well for me. This is after I had done a little sorting. I hope to post more pictures tomorrow of how far I have gotten.

Peter's grandmother often tells him that he should not get to have such gorgeous eyelashes. I have been trying to capture their beauty for a long time. He was so tired in this photo but it really does show how long they are. He got that trait from Mommy and Daddy.

OK, I know that I have not uploaded anything in quite a while but life has been super busy. Summer is finally here and it is time to focus on taking pictures of the crazy things that happen at my house. I do have a blurry picture of Peter climbing on the kitchen table (YES ON TOP OF IT) to get some tortilla chips at 7am. I just loved this picture more. We tried Peter out with strawberries today. He ate 1 and a half and now has a rash on his belly. I think we will try again in a few weeks to see if it happens again. He has been super happy and hyper. I hope that you enjoy all of the pictures to come. (Yes, Ang, I will do my best to update. ;) )

Today included a wonderful evening with lots of playing outside. Peter was running, dancing, and singing. Once we got inside he continued all of it. Go see it at Scraplove.

We went shopping today and I had to get Peter to try on his new shirt to see if it was the right size. His weight is higher then it says for this size but his length is not. While trying it on, he decided to also put on his snow hat and grab everything in sight.

On the way home, Peter talked and ate. When we were finally coming down the hill into our community, he fell asleep. He then slept in the car in the garage (with windows open of course) for a half hour. He woke up completely refreshed and ready to go.

We ahd a really rough ride home due to Peter's gas issues from his allergies. He finally stopped screaming so he could talk on his toy phone. He kept saying "Hello! Hello! HELLO!" We were later outside with our neighbors. I love spring days for this reason. The kids all get out and play. Look, he is already learning how to play baseball!!

These are two pictures that I took this evening while my husband was getting the bath ready for my son. The first is my son playing with the gate at the top of the stairs. He was using it as the "safe" spot as he ran all around me. The second picture is Peter's stuffed animals in the boat cradle that my father made for Peter. We used the cradle in our room when Peter was young. My dad's craftsmanship is just amazing. This cradle is what spurred the underwater theme in the nursery.

I loved the template and it was perfect for these photos and out popped this lo. I did have to use the PSE 2.0 watercolor filter on the photos to make them clear but they make it so vivid!!

Tonight was a relaxing night at home while I was playing Bingo at my favorite scrapbook site, www.gottapixel.net . I had made my own bingo card from Kathryn Mhire's Bingo cards to match her newest kits: Bodacious Borders and Bugs and Bodacious Borders and Bears. Peter decided later to be like mommy and act like he was crossing out the words on the bingo card. It was too cute.

We went to the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt in Sandy, OR on Saturday. They had wonderful teen volunteers, Key Club Members, to help out the kids because no parents were allowed to go into the hunt. At first we didn't think Peter would go in and then a nice, young lady came to help him and of course he went with her. Peter had a great time. This is the story of him getting the Golden Egg and receiving his bunny that is almost as big as he is.

Today Peter and I went for a walk to our friend's house. No one was home but I was able to take some beautiful pictures of her house all decorated for Easter. They are so great at doing this. I don't know if it will be as nice next year when they have a little taking up much of their time but I hope to continue seeing the great decorations. Later, Peter was talking on the phone with his Grandpa. It was just too cute.

Today was a really fussy day for Peter. I don't know if it is beacause he is thrown off schedule by not going to day care today or what. There was one happy moment that I was blaring The Wiggles from the computer and he was so happy dancing and talking to the computer. It was just too funny.

Today we hung out at the house because it was to cold to go to the zoo. After Peter's morning nap, I turned the Wiggles CD on and he was dancing to the music. I love it when he dances.

Today was a fun day around the house. My husband has not been home much lately because of classes and going on that overnight trip with his students, so today Peter finally got Daddy time. He loved going around the house and playing. During this time though, he was tired and had a melt down. The first set of pics is showing you the progression of his tantrum. He was so tired that he slept for 4.5 hours for his afternoon nap and he was still tired. I wonder if a growth spurt is coming on.

During the awards ceremony at the Math Competition, they had a bag piper playing while all of the trophies were behind him. He is a picture of some of the trophies. Unfortunatly, my husband's students did not win any of the trophies. One team actually got dead last but the kids had a great attitude about it.

We are suppose to do pictures of Landmarks for the Mommy Zone challenge this week. I don't know if I am goign to get anywhere to take pictures of actual landmarks of Washington so I decided to do a Northwest landmark photo today. A few years ago, when we first moved to Washington, I made a stained glass piece (one of my hobbies that I have not been able to touch since I got pregnant with Peter because of the lead content) to celebrate where we went for our honeymoon. For our honeymoon, we spent a few nights on the Oregon Coast, one of which was in Canon Beach where we love looking at Haystack Rock. I made the glass to look like Haystack Rock from one of my favorite photos of us. During out honeymoon, we flew kites so I had to incorporate them into the glass. When I think of the Oregon Coast, I think of Haystack rock. Too bad we are about 3 hours away from it right now but it is very Northwestern.

Today was a very busy day. Jenny and Ben spent last night with us. They left early in the day. Peter and I went out shopping. After a good nap, Peter was rearing to play. He enjoyed playing on his rocking horse. This is the horse that I have had since I was little. I just had to take a photo of him on it.

Today was a very busy day. Peter slept later for his morning nap then I was hoping for because we had an appt. at Yeun Lui for his Spring/18 month photo. Peter did not want anything for lunch until Mom starting eating a banana. At the photo shoot, he was just so cute for the photo and there was even a bunny there but he would not let mommy get out of the picture. I ended up in his picture, luckily I wore something springy that matched his cute outfit.

Sorry that this is a day late but I was exhausted last night. We were downstairs late with our friend Noel over as we watched the Oregon Ducks get to the Elite 8. We are very excited. As we watched the game, you can see that Peter snuggled right up to his buddy Noel.

Today we got our packages from Pottery Barn Kids. Grandma bought Peter an Easter pail so he can always have it. We just love it. We have not shown it to Peter yet but I just had to share it because we are so excited about it. Easter may come now. We are going to get some practice this weekend and get his photo taken with an alive bunny. We will see how that goes.

The other photo was of Peter burshing his teeth, and boy look at those teeth. This is the first real shot I got that you can see those teeth. Peter just loves to brush his teeth. It takes a bit for us to be able to get the toothbrush back. I hope it is always like that for his teeth's sake.

My little Linus. Peter loves his blankie. He will walk around all day if he had the choice. Going out the door this morning, I grabbed the camera and just had to take a photo of him in his cute overalls and him with his blankie. I only saw him a little longer today, just enough to take him to day care. Beacuase of conferences, I got home after 8pm and he was fast asleep. I just hate that. I miss my baby.

I'm a complete slacker tonight. I didn't get home until after 8:30 tonight and I am tired. I am also trying to find the layout of the day for www.gottapixel.net as I was deciding what to photograph. Peter just needed out today so we went for a walk. My husband took the camera and got some great shots, including this bottom one. I took the swing shot. Peter wanted to swing all by himself. He kept shoving my hand away and telling me no. I let him go and he was actually swinging all the way with his legs and body going the correct way. I had no idea an 18 month old could do this. We were very impressed.

By the way, did you notice his nice haircut?? The clippers at Costco for $25 is well worth the investment.

Today was so gorgeous. It got almost to 70 degrees which is perfect for a Western Washington spring day. I got home late because of a dentist appointment but the moment I got home, we went for a walk as I ate dinner on the go. We looked at beautiful flowers and trees blooming. We also went and visited our friends, Lisa and Brad and baby to be. It was just so nice.

I had to play with photos of this tree. For me this is an amazing photo. I hope to keep getting better at this and getting more photos like this.

I couldn't decide once again. I thought that everyone out there should finally see a pic of me. It is rare occasion because I am always the one behind the camera but I decided to turn the camera on the two of us. The other pic was to go wtiht the March Madness and my son saying "Go ducks!". I got to Peter's daycare today and found his hair spiked. The only thing we could figure out was maybe it was with the help of his food, which is not unusual of our son. This afternoon, we were playing upstairs and I just had to take a photo of it. The top photo is with the use of a Watercolor filter from PSE.

Day 8 - a day late

This was yesterday morning when Rob was getting Peter ready for the day. I always hear them wrestling and goofing around while I am in the shower every morning. This photo had some doctoring from PSE and then in PSPX, I played with Virtual Photographer and did the glamour filter.

I was inspired last night and just had to scrap one of the photos. I have other ideas for the other filtered photo but just not enough time to scrap it yet.

Tonight's post may have to wait until morning. I took some pics this morning because I have an "Issues of Abuse" class for my teaching certification that I have to take tonight until 8pm. I'm not even going to get to see my baby this evening. I hate that.

Day 7

Peter was having a great time with today's photoshoot but wanted to be in charge of the camera. I wanted to get closeups but he kept grabbing at the camera and kept bringing it closer. Because of that, I got blurry photos. Of course Photoshop Elements comes to the rescue. This photo had the Watercolor filter that gave such an amazing effect.

The effect for this one is Pallette Knife but you have to look at it large to really get the effect.

The final picture was just for fun. Peter chose his own hat at Old Navy today and was going everywhere with it. It was just too funny.

Today, Peter was everywhere. He just kept going and going. These are some fun shots of him getting around including his modified crawl, climbing udner the table, and just playing. Mobility has been a major issue for him and this collection of photos really celebrate how far he has come.

I decided to do something a little different tonight. Before going to bed, we have to change all of our clocks to daylight savings time. It always confuses us in so many ways so I thought I would pay homage to my favorite clock in the house.

I was so dead set on doing the photo of Peter throwing his little fit after dinner because he wanted more muffins but when Kodak popped up with viewing of today's photo, it just hit me that it had to be the one. Of course, I had to crop and change it to focus on my sweet boy but the look on his face said it all. My little boy is no longer a baby, he is a toddler who loves to toddle all around our house. This may not be a big deal to people but he just started walking successfully less then 2 months ago. It is truly a blessing and a curse.

I couldn't decide today between these two pics. The first is of our son playing with Daddy's shoelaces. The second is of our son palying with his maraca that sings to him. He loves dancing to the music and having it count every time he makes it shake.

Last night was rough here. Peter's teething really messed with his sleep and ours. He did not sleep much from midnight on, even with Tylenol. My husband took him downstairs just past 4:30am. At 6am, while getting ready for work, I left Peter on the couch with Teletubbies and this is how I found him. The poor thing was tuckered out and it was only 6 in the morning. May those teeth come in soon.

This is going to be a long journey that may be challenging but I imagine so rewarding. For the next 365 days, I plan to share a picture a day. Of course there are going to be times that I don't have access to internet for a few days a time but I promise, I will take a picture to share with you the moment I have access again. I hope you enjoy the journey of a year with my family.

Peter was being a complete goof ball tonight, but I guess the question is when is he not being a goof. He was acting like he was talking on his toy phone when I took this photo. Later he was being Linus and walking all around with his blankie. 18 months is sure a fun age.
